Lean on me . . .

(some of my favorites above)

On the P90X plan they allow you to have 1 weight watchers/lean cuisine meal a day (within the calorie requirements). Since I don't cook often, this is perfect for me! A lot of people are scared to try them fearing they're GROSS but they're actually very delicious : )

The workout skinny!

So I've done 7 days! and I've done the DVDs. Here is what I think of them so far.

Core Syn- Love it! I found this the most difficult for me. You're doing a lot, abs, legs, back, arms. This DVD made me very tired. I had a hard time with the push ups. I have weak arms! Hopefully by the end of this I will be more comfortable doing push ups. The banana rolls were tough. Keeping your balance and holding the pose.

Kenpo- MY FAVORITE! When I was younger I always said I wanted to be a boxer lol why? I'm not sure. I'm living out my dream doing this dvd. It's kickboxing! punching, jabbing, swinging, loved it. I did a lot better than I thought.

Yoga- YAWN! I had trouble with the DVD. Coming home from a long day at work, some may think I'd want to unwind and relax. The Yoga DVD was VERY hard for me to do after work. I feel like it made me even more sleepy. Every DVD except for this one, seems to go by fairly quickly! high energy! exciting! I looked up and realized I still had 50 minutes left and freaked out. I've decided to try this before work rather than after work, it might be a little big easier for me to do, we'll see.

AB Ripper - Intense from the start! Had trouble the first time, but the second time went a lot better. I think as time goes on this DVD will be great for me. I could feel the work out after it was done.  Oh, gotta love those banana rolls!

Legs and Back - I really want to work on my legs! so this work out was great. It was difficult but I got through it. I think Core Syng was a lot harder than this DVD. Wall squats were great.

Shoulders and Arms - Resistance bands come in hand for this! It was great. Nice toned arms.

Happy Birthday To Me - 1 month from today

My 26th Birthday is one month from today! My goal is to lose some more lbs and get leaner by then. Hopefully it works out!

Shani is making strawberries dipped in chocolate! I will be eating one : ) but no cake.

It worked for them! It WILL work for me too!

One of the reasons I decided to do P90X was because of the AMAZING success stories I'd find all over the internet (mostly You Tube). I thought it would be a great idea to blog my whole experience but I just realized that, I'm sort of bad at this blogging thing. I'm trying my best!
If you have any questions feel free to make comments on my blogs and I'll do my best to answer!

Foodie!

A lot of people are asking me what I am eating. It's only day 2! but here is what I've had so far on Day 1 and Day 2. Yes, I ate the same thing - I am a pretty basic person, I'll switch it when I get bored.

10:00AM - Grapefruit w/ Splenda ( great at making me feel full )

Noon - String Cheese Snack

2:00pm - Baby spinach w/ tomatoes, feta, grilled chicken, light balsamic dressing

4:00pm - String Cheese Snack

6:00pm - Low- Cal Chicken Soup by Progresso

After my work out I could have a recovery shake or another snack like a hand full of almonds, soy nuts or celery sticks.

Lots and Lots and Lots of water through out the day!

The pledge! A lot of my friends and family know that I am doing this program. I think the fact that everyone knows makes me want to try even harder. I can't quit. Everyone is counting on me, looking for my results, waiting to hear about my experience. It doesn't help either that my Birthday is a month away and I am going on a cruise to the Bahamas in May. Wish me luck!

Carpe Diem!

I have decided to start the program on Monday March 23rd 2009 which means I'll complete it June 21st 2009. At least ... that's the plan. Slight problem though, Memorial Day weekend I am going on a cruise which may cause a slight bump in my plans but we will fight that battle as it gets closer. In the meantime, this new workout is going to get me in great bikini shape by the time my ship sails off!

BEFORE PHOTOS

Here are some BEFORE pictures of me (2008) for you to check out. In addition to reaching day 90 in the P90x fitness program, I have some other ideas I'd like to accomplish. A friend suggested I look into fitness modeling so I'm going to do some research into that. I'd also like to take a shot at marathon training but let's see how well the program goes first. My main goal is to be more toned and gain a 6 pack : )

Here we go . . . .

Preparing to do P90X: Week 1

First off, I'd like to thank Shani Porter for making this possible lol

This week I am starting P90x.

P90X is an intensive fitness program designed by Tony Horton, and was recommended to me by my good friend Gregory.

The program can transform your body in 90 days. You will be doing different moves and routines every day. They call this "muscle confusion." You will never get bored and your body will never plateau. This workout is ideal for me. This economy is insane! I don't have the money to spend on gym membership fees. This fitness program allows me to do everything from home.

How it works:

When you first start the program you have to choose which version you want to do.
A. Classic
B. Doubles
C. Lean

The lean version, has more cardio and I have decided to go with this one! There are a total of
12 P90X workout DVDs. Basically you do a different one each day for 6 days, on the 7th day you rest or do the stretch DVD. All of the work outs are about 1 hour 30 minutes long, except for the AB DVD which is shorter.

What you need to buy:

The set (comes with the DVDs, Fitness Calendar, Nutrition Guide, you'll have to find and purchase resistance bands, a pull up bar, and dumb bells

I have decided NOT to buy the pull up bar because I don't really have any room for it, and I honestly believe no matter how hard I work I'll never be able to do one pull up, let alone more than one pull up lol I will use the bands in place of the pull up bar.
